Serving Size, Ingredients and Equipment:

For each appetizer portion (one tomato):

<br>- one fresh tomato
<br>- 5 tablespoons olive oil
<br>- 2 tablespoons wine vinegar (for a “lighter” taste) or balsamico vinegar
<br>- 1 tablespoon dark honey
<br>- sea salt
<br>- ground black pepper
<br>- 3 shallots, chopped
<br>- two large basil leaves, ripped apart
<br>

Cooking Instructions and Methods:

Make sure the tomato is dry and cut it into relatively think slices.
<br>
<br>Mix a vinaigrette out of the remaining ingredients (except the basil and onion). Use the salt and pepper to taste.
<br>
<br>Arrange the tomato slices on a chilled plate, top with the vinaigrette and garnish with the basil.
<br>
<br>If you prefer, add the ground pepper on top at this stage.
<br>
<br>Serve.
