<p>Required Equipment: 9 or 10-inch / 23 cm pie pan or similar sided pan.</p><p><br></p><p>Ingredients:</p><p>- 300 g of flour</p><p>- 150 g of butter</p><p>- 150 g of sugar</p><p>- one package of vanilla sugar</p><p>- 1 tablespoon apple syrup</p><p>- 2 teaspoons of baking soda</p><p>- 1 egg</p><p>- 1 teaspoon cinnamon</p><p><br></p><p>Optional ingredients for serving:</p><p>- vanilla ice cream </p><p>- whipped cream</p><p><br></p>
<p>Mix the flour with the baking powder and add 100 g sugar, butter, vanilla sugar, egg and salt. Knead everything into a smooth dough ball and chill the dough for 30 minutes.</p><p><br></p><p>Peel, core, and chop the apples into small pieces. Simmer the apples with 3 tbsp water, 100 g sugar, the cinnamon and apple syrup for about 10 minutes, then let cool.</p><p><br></p><p>Grease a springform pan with butter and roll out half of the dough into a circle the diameter of your pan base and place into it. Press the base against the bottom edge of the pan and then press it slightly up the sides.</p><p><br></p><p>Prick all areas of the dough with a fork, and pre-bake for 15-20 minutes at 200 degrees celsius in a preheated oven.</p><p><br></p><p>Then, spread the apple compote mixture on the cake base, roll out the remaining dough, and arrange it in lattice strips on top.</p><p><br></p><p>Bake for another 15 minutes at the same temperature. Then remove the cake and let it cool in the pan.</p><p><br></p><p>Optionally serve with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.</p>
