Herb Guide: Cardamom

Serving Size, Ingredients and Equipment:

Tasts airy, with a gentle ginger and slight pine flavor.

Origin: Guatemala, India

Of the ginger family, cardamom is the seeds of the Elettaria Cardamomum fruit, which are enclosed in a small pod.




Cooking Instructions and Methods:

Use with spice rubs for spareribs, pork chops, roasts, coffee, cakes, breads, cookies, fruitcakes, hot fruit, mulled wines & punches, meat, poached fish, fish stews, meat loaf, sweet potatoes.


Combine with: cumin, coriander seed.
