Useful equipment: a sharp knife and a large cutting board
- 3 large tomatoes, core removed and minced, then lightly salted
- 1 small onion, minced
- 1 small fresh jalapeño pepper, seeds removed and minced
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed with salt and minced
- 1 bunch cilantro leaves, minced
- 1 tbsp lime juice, freshly squeezed
The key to this recipe is taking time to mince the ingredients finely, making them all about the same size. Then, adjust the amount of lime juice and salt after mixing all the ingredients and waiting 15 minutes.
Options: Add 1 additional jalapeño for more heat, then add a few jalapeño seeds to increase the heat by a large amount.
